<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounting apparatus that is of space-saving design and smaller in size. <P>SOLUTION: In a display panel assembling apparatus, a flexible substrate 8 which is stored in a pallet 12 is taken out and is mounted on a glass substrate 6 as against a substrate transferring mechanism 2 for transferring the glass substrate 6 in the X direction. A loader device 3 with a first holding unit 11A and a second holding unit 11B for holding the pallet 12 carrying the flexible substrate 8 or holding the empty pallet 12 is disposed in the Y direction. Furthermore, the second holding unit 11B is configured to be moved across the lower part of the substrate transferring mechanism 2 toward a second direction and drawn out up to a location where operations can be carried out. This enables the implementation of a rational device layout while preventing the loader device 3 from protruding in the substrate transferring direction, thus enabling the elimination of a wasteful space for the achievement of space saving and downsizing of an assembly line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
