PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature-compensation oscillator promoting the miniaturization of the temperature-compensation oscillator having a low-pass filter 7 in a temperature-compensation mechanism and being capable of changing a time constant after an assembly. SOLUTION: In the crystal oscillator for a surface mounting, the crystal oscillator has the temperature-compensation mechanism with the low-pass filter being connected to a compensation-voltage generating circuit and suppressing a noise component in a compensation voltage. Further, an IC chip integrating the temperature-compensation mechanism and an oscillation circuit with the exception of a capacitor for the low-pass filter, and a crystal piece connected to the oscillation circuit, are housed in a vessel body. In the crystal oscillator, the capacitor for the low-pass filter is loaded on a set substrate on the outside of the vessel body, and mounting terminals electrically connected at both terminals for the capacitor are mounted on the rear of the vessel body.
