<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document processing system for shortening a period of time required in a process of acquiring attribute information from a paper ID, a paper document information server, a method of processing a document and a document processing program therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The document processing system which processes the paper document written by hand includes a paper ID management means for managing the paper ID to identify the paper document and managing the attribute information of the paper document, a decoding means for decoding an encoded paper ID which has encoded the paper ID, an information acquiring means for acquiring the paper ID decoded by the decoding means from the paper document in which the encoded paper ID is printed, an attribute information acquiring means for acquiring the attribute information of the paper document corresponding to the paper ID from the paper ID managing means, and a relevant information storage means for storing relevant information in which the paper ID is related to the attribute information. The attribute information acquiring means acquires the attribute information from the paper ID management means when the attribute information of the paper document corresponding to the paper ID cannot be acquired from the relevant information storage means.
