METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF A BIOLOGICAL IDENTIFIER

The invention relates to a novel method for the preparation of a means of biological identification or biological identifier and the use thereof for the traceability of biological matter, preferably from animals, particularly cattle such as bovines. The method comprises the following steps: the taking of a biological sample that is to be identified; isolation of the DNA of said sample, amplification and analysis of the microsatellite fragments of the isolated DNA and/or punctual polymorphisms; codification of the lengths of the microsatellite fragments thus obtained and/or of the sequences of combinations of punctual polymorphisms according to an appropriate algorithm in order to obtain a means of identification which is specific to the genetic composition of the sample.
