A wave power unit has a hollow spherical floater immersed under water level, inside it a rod made of magnetostrictive material is placed, this is directed in space in parallel to the force lines of magnetic field of Earth and has outer electric winding to switch through rectifier to accumulator battery. One end of the rod is fixed without possibility of motion at the inner surface of the floater, and the other and is free and through gasket in the body of the floater by means of system of blocks, hinges and cable it is connected to the axle of the surface floater - "duck". The distance between the axles of the floaters at the side of rounding of the floater -"duck" in vertical plane normal to wave front is larger than its radius.
