ORGANIC SOLVENT-BASED THICKENING AND THIXOTROPY-IMPARTING AGENT, COATING COMPOSITION, FUNCTIONAL FILM AND OPTICAL FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thickening agent or a thixotropy-imparting agent usable for an organic solvent-based coating composition having excellent applicability and giving a film having high plane uniformity. SOLUTION: The organic solvent-based thickening agent and thixotropy-imparting agent contains a polymer having a partial structure expressed by general formula (1) on the terminal of repeating unit. In the formula, R is a≥4C alkyl substituted with≥8 fluorine atoms; Z is a (t+1)-valent linking group; # is the linking position of the polymer to the repeating unit; and t is an integer of 2-6.
