PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrier-free type sash window which enables the attachment/detachment of a component constituting a top surface of a sill, without causing a deterioration in a sense of flatness. SOLUTION: A knob member 35 is provided at the end of a top surface member 32 between rails, which constitutes the top surface of the sill 12; a top surface part of the knob member 35 is made to continue into a top surface of the member 32 and almost flatly formed; and a recess is formed at the indoor-side and outdoor-side edges of the top surface part of the knob member 35. This enables the member 32 to be attached to/detached from a sill body 124 by gripping the recess from both the indoor and outdoor sides. Since a depth-direction central part of the top surface part of the knob member 35 is formed in an almost flat shape with no recess or hole, the sense of the flatness of the top surface of the sill 12 is not deteriorated.
