The device has a base (1) to be mounted on the fork bridge of a motorcycle, and attachment mechanism for fastening the steering handle of the motorcycle to the base. The attachment mechanism includes dampers (5) for absorbing the relative motion of the steering handle to the base when the steering handle is attached to the base. Clips (4,6) are also provided for clamping the steering handle. An independent claim is included for the two-wheeled vehicle using the retaining device.
