The tape in an endless tape cartridge is supported on a turntable 10 attached to one part of a two-part hub assembly 4 whose inner part 4a has a driving pawl and which transmits torque to the outer part 4b whilst permitting relative slippage. The torque may be transmitted via rollers 4c, felt material, light engagement of the confronting surfaces, or by the turntable 10 itself and possibly a disc atop the tape coil, both being of PTFE. The cartridge also includes a tapered guide roller 5 and screen 13.
