1276990 Injection mould closing devices CINCINNATI MILACRON Inc 19 April 1971 [20 March 1970] 25487/71 Heading B5A [Also in Divisions F1 and F2] A toggle link clamping mechanism is provided in an injection moulding or similar apparatus to close and clamp the mould parts and is actuated by a rotory hydraulic actuator. As shown an injection mould has a fixed platen 12 with a mould member 13 and injection nozzle 18, and a platen 15 slidable on tie rods 14 having a mould member 16 provided with knock-out hydraulic cylinders 23. The platen 15 is moved and clamped by toggle arms 24, 25 pivotally mounted at a knee joint on a pin 35. The arms 24 are bolted together through a ring 32 which is spaced outwardly of a stepped portion 37 of the pin 35 to form a fluid tight annular chamber divided into chambers 52, 53 by vane members 40 on the pin 35 and abutment 46 secured to the annular ring 32. By introducing fluid and venting alternatively into chambers 52, 53 through channels 56 in the pin 35 and bores 58,59, 54 and 58<SP>1</SP>, 59<SP>1</SP>, 55, the toggle arms are opened and closed to clamp and unclamp the mould parts. |
