Rimmed steel prodn by continuous casting

A method making rimmed steel by a continuous casting process which consists in: (a) determing a curve of correlation of (C)-(O) in the liquid steel; (b) blowing an inert gas into the vessel containing the liquid steel; (c) adding an Al-wire having a diameter of more than 3 mm. to the liquid steel at a speed of more than 2.5 m./sec. in proportion to the dispersion of oxygen content to the (C)-(O) curve; and (d) pouring the liquid steel into a continuous casting mould.
