PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed cassette capable of obtaining adequate separation of paper sheets by a separation claw when a paper feed cassette is inserted/drawn in/from an image forming device body in the direction orthogonal to the paper sheet feeding direction. SOLUTION: The paper feed cassette has a pair of separation claws 93L, 93R which is provided on a cassette body 90 to store paper sheets S to be fed toward an image forming device body in a stacked state, and engaged with both front edge corner parts SL, SR in the feeding direction in the feeding direction of the paper sheets to be fed to separate the highest paper sheet to be fed from the next paper sheet, and is inserted in/drawn from the image forming device body in the direction orthogonal to the feeding direction F of the paper sheets S. The length of the pair of separation claws 93L, 93R in the direction orthogonal to the paper sheet feeding direction F is set so that the length of the separation claw 93R on the proximal side is larger than the length of the separation claw 93L on the distal side in the inserting/drawing direction of the paper feed cassette.
