<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catharanthus seed, catharanthus plant, catharanthus variant and catharanthus hybrid which have disease resistance, in particular catharanthus plants which have resistance against fungal diseases caused by Phytophthora, increased resistant level against Myzus persicae and other harmful insects, and increased content of alkaloids. <P>SOLUTION: Increased disease resistance and increased content of alkaloids in catharanthus plants and other crop plants are obtained by hybridizing catharanthus plants having the resistance against Phytophthora. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
