PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter produced by folding laminated filter media without crumpling laminated filter media and without damaging requested characteristics such as filtration efficiency of laminated filter media and to provide a method for producing the air filter. SOLUTION: This air filter is produced by laminating a plurality of filter media, folding the laminated filter media zigzag and keeping a space between the adjacent folded filter media by a separator or a ribbon material. A folding line is formed only on the filter medium positioned at one end of the plurality of filter media to be laminated and then the plurality of filter media are laminated and folded.
