PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image retrieval technology capable of retrieving a desired image highly precisely. SOLUTION: This portable image pickup device 100 is provided with: a photographing part 2 for photographing an image; a data input part 8 for accepting retrieval conditions to specify the object contents of the image; and a CPU 1 for selecting an image matched with the retrieval conditions from the photographic image. An image retrieving part in the CPU 1 performs image retrieval based on a plurality of photographic condition values about the photographic image acquired by a main processing part in the CPU 1 or an image pickup control part in the photographic part 2.
