PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the variation in laser light quantity by preventing a contact to a variable resistor on a circuit substrate in a scanning optical apparatus which is composed by exposing the circuit substrate for driving a semiconductor laser on a case, a housing or a supporting member of the scanning optical apparatus. SOLUTION: The scanning optical apparatus is characterized by that a protective member having a height projected from the height of the variable resistor is composed in the vicinity of the variable resistor on the circuit substrate for driving the semiconductor laser.
