<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device where a power source and a light source are made small in size and light in weight, by introducing LED illumination, further, the apparatus as a whole can be made compact by employing a single plate system, and the service lives of the light valve and the light source are prolonged. <P>SOLUTION: The device is provided with a single light valve 1 and an illuminating system for illuminating the light valve 1, and the illuminating system is provided with at least two red, two green, and two blue light-emitting diodes, and at least one sheet of lenticular lens 2 for illuminating the light valve 1 with the illumination light emitted from the light-emitting diodes 3 using a plurality of color light bands. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
