PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fixing roller and a fixing device using the same, which are capable of obtaining fixed images of high quality by preventing a recording sheet from stretching, waving, or the like due to distortion of an elastic layer of the fixing roller like a heat roller and avoiding more stretching of a paper even when making a nip area long-sized. SOLUTION: The fixing roller for use in the fixing device includes the elastic layer coated on the surface side of a core bar member and a middle layer which is coated on the surface side of the elastic layer and has higher elasticity than the elastic layer.
