PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the labor of checking for correctness and correcting a result of computerization when a paper document is computerized and saved. SOLUTION: A document processing apparatus has an input means for inputting page image data corresponding to an image of each page of a document, an extraction means for analyzing the page image data input into the input means to extract each item of description data representing the item of description described on the document, a determination means for determining whether or not the description represented by the description data extracted by the extraction means is correct according to rule sets that are data representing a described character type or described values of each item described on the document, and a correction means for correcting an item of description data with the description found incorrect by the determination means according to the rule sets.
