<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of realizing an MMI which conveniently selects an un-printed image and improving the convenience of index print in the recording apparatus with an index printing function, a recording method and its program. <P>SOLUTION: A printing apparatus 100 can perform a reading-out processing and a writing-in processing on various data containing image data to a memory card 110 through a card I/F processing part 111. In addition, the printing apparatus 100 can perform the index printing which makes a list on a thumbnail on each image data stored in the memory card 110, and accompanying information being various information accompanying the image data, and can print it.
