PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical film inserting method capable of reliably inserting a cylindrical film folded in a sheet into a predetermined position of a barrel portion of a square bottle. SOLUTION: When a label L is inserted in a long square bottle B, the folding-back angle of a label forming base material by a folding-back unit is set so that an initial fold f1 formed in advance in the label forming base material folded into a sheet-like shape corresponds to a corner part of the long square bottle B. In a condition in which the cylindrical label L opened by a label opener is shaped to a predetermined opening shape by an opening shaping means, the label L is inserted in the long square bottle B in a condition in which an additional fold f2 newly formed in the label forming base material by the folding-back operation is located at a center in the width direction of the long square bottle B. Since the label L is positioned with respect to the long square bottle B by engaging the initial fold f1 portion with the corner part of the long square bottle B, the label L is reliably inserted in the predetermined position of a barrel portion of the long square bottle B.
