PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle capable of establishing securement of the durability of a cable and enhancement of the steering feeling compatibly. SOLUTION: The steering device for the vehicle is structured so that an operation part 2 having a steering wheel 1 and a steering part 4 to steer the vehicle wheels in steering 3 are coupled together through a cable type column 12 and is equipped with a reaction force torque sensor 5 to sense the steering torque fed to the operation part 2, a steering actuator 8 to emit a steering assist force to the steering part 4, and a controller 14 to control the steering actuator 8 in compliance with the steering torque fed to the operation part 2, wherein the arrangement further includes a reaction force actuator 6 to emit a steering reaction force for the operation part 2 and a steering torque sensor 9 to sense the steering torque fed to the steering part 4, and the controller 14 controls the reaction force actuator 6 in compliance with the steering torque.
