The invention relates to a method for producing electronic ceramic components (1) such as varistors, thermistors, condensers or the like, consisting of a ceramic parallelepiped monolith (2) on the transversal faces (4, 5) opposite which electroconductive metallic layers, commonly called terminations (6, 7), are respectively deposited, the longitudinal and lateral faces of the monolith (2) being covered by a glass layer (2) and/or at least one oxide in order to protect said monolith. The inventive method is characterised in that a masking viscous composition (11) is deposited on the transversal faces (4,5) opposite the monolith (2), said composition having adhesion properties in the viscous state for vertically sticking the monolith (2) to a carrier, and a porous structure after firing, in order to be able to remove the masking composition (11) by mechanical means in such a way as to leave bare the transversal faces opposite the monolith on which the terminations (6, 7) are subsequently deposited. The invention also relates to a masking composition (11) for implementing said method. |
