PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wedge type connecting fitting for temporary construction, with a structure wherein a wedge in the state of being disconnected from a retainer fitting is not inadvertently inserted into the retainer fitting. SOLUTION: This connecting fitting is used for connecting a temporary construction element such as a handrail and a brace to the retainer fitting with a spigot, pre-provided in a support. The connecting fitting comprises: a main body, the top surface part of which is provided with a through-hole; an insertion piece which can be inserted into the spigot by bending a leading end of the top surface part downward; and the wedge which can be firmly inserted into the spigot via the through-hole in the state of making the insertion piece inserted into the spigot. The insertion piece is provided with a recessed groove with a downward opening, capable of being engaged with the side part of the spigot from above and capable of closing the through-hole with a side part in engagement. The insertion piece can also be split in a bifurcated shape by providing the recessed groove on the center line, or split in a trifurcated shape by providing the recessed grooves in two places. Additionally, either of bifurcated pieces formed on right and left sides of the recessed groove can also be set shorted than the other piece, or both of the two side pieces among trifurcated pieces can also be set shorter than the central piece.
