A rectification apparatus in which a raw liquid comprising an organic solvent and an alkaline or acid volatile matter is supplied to a rectification column to separate and recover the organic solvent, characterized in that the rectification column has a neutralizing-agent introduction means for introducing a neutralizing agent for neutralizing the volatile matter, the introduction means being disposed on the column top side of the position to which the raw liquid is supplied. The apparatus preferably further has a detection means for detecting the volatile matter contained in a recovered liquid discharged from the rectification column and a pH-measuring means for measuring the pH of the raw liquid. The amount of the neutralizing agent to be introduced by the neutralizing-agent introduction means is preferably controlled based on these results.
