PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the residual vibration of a response when a head returns to a track center or a settling response to a target track at the time of shock application in a magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a magnetic disk for recording information, a magnetic head for reading/writing information, an actuator device for driving the magnetic head, and a control system for controlling the driving of the actuator device. The actuator device is provided with a fine moving actuator 40 for driving the head, and a two-stage actuator having a rough motion actuator 42 for driving the magnetic head with the fine moving actuator 40. The control system is provided with a fine moving controller 41 for generation an operation amount to drive the fine moving actuator 40, and a rough motion controller 43 for controlling an operation amount to drive a rough motion actuator 42. The control system is provided with a means for smoothly changing the operation amount generated by the fine moving controller 41 immediately before saturation by the applied voltage limit value of the fine moving actuator 40 or during return to a control range from the saturation.
