PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce density irregularities occurring due to irregularities in the quantities of ink droplets of recording elements in an image recording device whose recording resolution in the arrangement direction is increased by arranging a head unit where a plurality of recording elements are arranged in the direction vertical to the arrangement direction. SOLUTION: The image recording device performs recording on a recording medium by using a recording head in which two more recording head units in which a plurality of recording elements are arranged are connected in the direction vertical to the arrangement direction of the recording elements and has recording head driving sections 58 and 59 to drive the plurality of recording elements of the recording head in accordance with image data and record an image on a recording medium by the quantities of ink droplets different for the recording head units, a discharge characteristics table 510 on which recording characteristics of the recording elements of the recording head units, a density irregularity discrimination section to discriminate density irregularities in a recording surface on the basis of the head characteristics table, and an image processing section 52 to perform density irregularity correction on the basis of the result of discrimination obtained by the head characteristic table and the density irregularity discrimination section.
