PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which performs RF (radio frequency) pulse tuning so that the ability of an RF transmitter can be effectively utilized. SOLUTION: The device tunes an RF pulse for excitation so that the flip angle of a spin agrees with a target value. It is provided with a pulse width adjusting means which gradually increases the pulse width of the RF pulse from a predetermined initial value until the flip angle of the spin agrees with an intermediate target value, and a calculating means which calculates conditions of the RF pulse which makes the flip angle of the spin agree with a final target value smaller than the above intermediate target value from the conditions of the RF pulse which makes the flip angle of the spin agree with the intermediate target value.
