<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain chrominance without using a filter and a transfer function. <P>SOLUTION: Optical feedback for controlling the color of light (29) from a light source (51-59) is provided, where incident optical energy of the light (29) is detected as a function of discrete steps of wavelength; for each discrete step of the wavelength, an X, Y and Z tristimulus subvalue is produced. All the X, Y and Z tristimulus subvalues for all the discrete steps are summed together to produce an X, Y and Z tristimulus value for the light (29); and the X, Y and Z tristimulus values are used as feedback, in controlling color of the light (29) generated by the light source (51-59). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
