PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience of shift operation by a second shift switch while restraining manual shifting by the erroneous operation of the second shift switch disposed on a steering column. SOLUTION: When "M mode only is performed" is selected, a step S7 and a subsequent step are executed. Unless the M mode is turned on, a range switching with the second shift switch is disabled to prevent manual shifting unwanted by a driver by erroneous operation. On the other hand, unless "M mode only is operated" is selected, a step S3 and a subsequent step are executed, and the manual shifting can be easily and conveniently performed by only the second switch irrespective of whether the M mode is turned on or off.
