PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording reproducing device which can enhance reliability in recording operation to the recording medium by enabling driving speed of the recording medium in recording to be controlled based on an opened or closed state of a panel in the information recording reproducing device equipped with an input device configured to be housed in a main body by opening and closing the panel. SOLUTION: In the information recording reproducing device which is equipped with multiple drive mechanism for recording the information on a disk type recording medium or reproducing the information recorded on the recording medium, an opening and closing type input device in which input operation is possible in a state where the panel arranged in the main body of the device is open, and can drive the multiple mechanism in parallel, the device is equipped with an opened or closed state detection sensor for detecting the opened or closed state of the panel of the input device, and a drive speed control means for controlling the drive speed of the recording medium in the recording based on a detected signal from the opened or closed detection sensor. The drive speed control means is made to control the drive speed of the recording medium at low speed when the panel is in the opened state and control the drive speed of the recording medium at high speed when the panel is in the closed state.
