PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal controlling device, a detection sensor, and a multiple-optical axis photoelectric sensor generating no malfunction or the like, and capable of reducing the number of components. SOLUTION: A signal input device 50A of a sensor controller 50 outputs selection information comprising a voltage level to a signal output circuit 40 of a multiple-optical axis photoelectric sensor body 10 through a shield wire 37 by selecting either of a PNP corresponding input circuit or an NPN corresponding input circuit by a slide switch 70. The signal output circuit 40 validates only an output signal from the PNP corresponding input circuit when the selection information is the voltage level of the PNP corresponding input circuit, and on the other hand, validates only an output signal from the NPN corresponding input circuit when the selection information is the voltage level of the NPN corresponding input circuit.
