PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device and a driving method that can hold discharge by applying a voltage which is smaller in value than a sustain voltage to a scan electrode and a sustaining electrode. SOLUTION: A positive (+) voltage and a negative (-) voltage are alternately applied to scan electrodes Y and voltages having the opposite polarities from the voltages applied to the scan electrodes Y are alternately applied to the sustaining electrodes Z. The plasma display device includes a plasma display panel including the scan electrodes and sustaining electrodes and an electrode drive part which applies a 4th negative (-) voltage and a 3rd positive (+) voltage alternately to the sustain electrodes each time a 1st positive (+) voltage and a 2nd negative (-) voltage are alternately applied to the scan electrodes in a sustain period.
