PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sideways-placed incense burner where incense sticks are stably kept and the fire of the sticks does not go out in a short time. SOLUTION: The incense burner 1 supports an end of the incense stick from above and a position near a side of the end from the center of gravity of the stick from below to retain the stick sideways supported at two points. The burner 1 is provided with an incense burner plate 2 for receiving ashes, an incense stick rest 3 extending from an edge of the plate 2 and supporting the end of the stick from above and a partition plate 4 vertically mounted on the plate 2 to support the stick in the position near the side of the end from the center of gravity of the stick from below and able to help the stick lying sideways burn. Thereby the stick is able to burn continuously in the state of no contact with other objects and of lying sideways and prevented from rotationally moving.
