<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device with a zoom mechanism for increasing or decreasing the size of an image rendered on a display screen. <P>SOLUTION: The zoom mechanism 50 has an actuator 51 that is movable in a first direction to cause the image to zoom in. The actuator 51 is also movable in a second direction to cause the image to zoom out. The zoom mechanism 50 includes a sensor 45 for detecting movement of the actuator in the first direction and movement of the actuator in the second direction.
