PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latent image forming means or an image forming method and apparatus when using an electrophotographic photoreceptor giving a satisfactory image quality in the electrophotographic photoreceptor in which charge generation layers are formed dispersedly in a dot shape and as micro regions. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor, a charge generation layer and a charge transport layer are disposed on a conductive substrate and the charge generation layers are formed dispersedly in the dot shape as micro regions. The image forming apparatus comprises: a charging means of the photoreceptor; and an exposure means for forming electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor as a latent image forming means for forming the electrostatic latent image on the electrophotographic photoreceptor, wherein the exposure means satisfies a following relation between a dot diameter D of the charge generation layer of the photoreceptor and 1/e<SP>2</SP>diameterω<SB>y</SB>of exposure intensity as exposure beam spot diameter used by an exposure means;ω<SB>y</SB>≤4D.
