PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluorine-containing compound used in application, such as an additive or the like for bringing a transparent resin material to be low water absorbent or water repellent without spoiling various characteristics such as transparency and the like which the transparent resin has. SOLUTION: The fluorine-containing compound is expressed by general formula (1) (wherein X expresses O or S; Rf expresses a fluorine-containing≥4C alkyl, r expresses a number of Rf-X- bonding to an aromatic ring and is≥1 integer; s expresses a number of fluorine atoms bonding to the aromatic ring and is an integer of≥1; r+s expresses an integer of 2-5).
