PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deformation of a lid retaining frame by providing a mechanism for absorbing a fastening load, when a flange inclined with respect to a bolt is fastened with a nut. SOLUTION: This lid retaining frame 10 comprises a lid retaining part 11 for mounting a lid body for an underground structure, and a flange part 12 which is attached to a lower structure. The frame 10 can be attached by making nuts 21 and 22 screwed to the bolt 15, planted in the lower structure, through a through-hole 14. In a structure of the frame 10, a void 16 enclosing the periphery of an insertion hole 14 is provided in the flange part 12, so as to form an insertion hole frame 17 which is enclosed with the void 16, and the frame 17 and the flange part 12 are connected together by means of a bridge part 18. In construction, a positional relationship, wherein the flange part 12 is inclined with respect to the bolt 15, is established, and the load can be absorbed by the deformation of the bridge part 18 which connects the frame 17 and the flange part 12 together when the load is imposed on the frame 17 by fastening the nut 22.
