<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mirror and an optical pickup by which reproducing/recording of an optical disk 40 having the different depth of focus can be performed by separating a laser beam of different polarization by a polarized wave selecting film 16 formed at a light incident plane 14 of a mirror 10, reflecting a laser beam 32 for DVD as parallel light, and reflecting a laser beam 34 for CD as divergence light. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical pickup 28, the laser beam 32 for DVD of S polarization emitted from a hologram unit 30 is reflected by the polarization selecting film 16 formed on a flat light incident plane of the mirror 10, and converged on a signal recording plane 42 by an objective lens 38. The laser beam 34 for CVD of P polarization is emitted from the hologram unit 30, it is transmitted through the polarization selecting film 16 of the mirror 10 and a substrate 12, reflected by a reflecting film 20 of a curved surface, and converged on the signal recording plane 44 by the objective lens 38. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
