PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field effect transistor which uses an organic compound crystal having more excellent characteristics as a material for constructing a channel formation region. SOLUTION: The field effect transistor contains the channel formation region consisting of the organic compound crystal. The organic compound crystal consists ofπelectron conjugate molecules containing chalcogen atoms as constituent elements, and the distance is short between the chalcogen atoms in the adjacentπelectron conjugate molecules. The organic compound crystal has a periodic structure wherein theπelectron conjugate molecules are two-dimensionally or three-dimensionally connected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
