<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make tomograms with enhanced sharpness. <P>SOLUTION: A radiation source scans revolving around an examination object on an imaginary cylindrical surface. A computer unit reconstructs detector output data to form tomograms S1, S2 and S3 in a region of one tomographic plane. Two tomograms S1, S2 and S3 from different phases of the movement cycle of the examination object are reconstructed in the region of one tomographic plane. The tomograms S1, S2 and S3 compiled in this one tomographic plane are subdivided automatically into subregions Q11 to Q33, and one complete tomogram S is assembled per tomographic plane from subregions of the individual tomograms S1, S2 and S3. For this purpose, use is made of the subregions of the individual tomograms S1, S2 and S3 that respectively exhibit relatively the optimal image quality of the respective subregion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
