PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein color for monochromatic compensation has been limited only to black in a conventional method, and thereby monochromatic compensation for color materials of other colors, such as C, M and Y, cannot be performed. SOLUTION: In accordance with setting information for specifying whether color conversion, based on color compensation for converting a pixel value of image data in a corresponding MCYK color space into a prescribed value is to be performed (S5) in each object of a plotting command, when a plotting value expressed in RGB color space satisfies a prescribed condition; whether normal conversion processing (S6) for converting the plotting value of the RGB color space into a pixel value of the MCYK color space is to be executed or color compensated conversion processing (S5) is to be executed is selected, and the pixel data are converted from RGB into MCYK.
