PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a color toner capable of thoroughly dispersing a colorant, excellent in color reproducibility and OHP transparency, and having satisfactory triboelectric charging property. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a color toner comprises a first kneading step, a second kneading step, a pulverizing step and a classifying step, wherein a proportion of a pigment solid component in a hydrous paste pigment to a resin in the first kneading step is 20-150 parts by mass to 100 parts by mass of the first resin, and with respect to the particle size of the first resin used in the first kneading step, a 25% particle diameter (D25) is≥10μm, a 50% particle diameter (D50) is 20-100μm and a 75% particle diameter (D75) is≤150μm.
