A papermaking assembly has a heated drum (30) with a disc (31) at each end of the mantle (20) with a hot fluid feed (43) and return pipe (44) through the end discs. The feed and return passages are linked by a flow chamber (39) with channels that are located either in the first end-disc (31) or mantle (20) or both. The end face (31) faces the operator. The second end piece terminates the operating side.
