PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent metal abrasive powder from invading into a bearing by fretting. SOLUTION: This bearing unit for a rolling stock comprises a contact portion A coming into contact with the inner diameter side of the axial inner side end face 12a of an inner ring 12 and the inner diameter side of the axial outer side end face 9a of a rear cover 9 and a non-contact portion B not coming into contact with the outer diameter side of the axial inner side end face 12a of the inner ring 12 and the outer diameter side of the inner end face 9a of the rear cover 9 since a clearance is present therebetween.
