<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer concentration control method which can shorten the down time which interrupts the image forming process by shortening the time required to control the image forming conditions when forming images and can stabilize the concentration control precision of the developer. <P>SOLUTION: The spaces are reduced between the concentration check toner patterns P in the running direction of the image carrier to shorten the time required to check the toner patterns by including the length corresponding to the time required to switch the developing bias within the edge length areas b, c corresponding to the ineffective areas formed in the concentration check toner patterns P formed for each gradation on the image carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
