PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a capsule endoscope by reducing the number of pins of IC disposed in a rigid substrate and the number of signal lines disposed on a flexible substrate, to reduce the hardening of the substrate and to lower a probability of disconnection of a signal line. SOLUTION: The 8-bit image information (for 1 pixel) captured by an image pickup means 23 is inputted in an A/D conversion part 24a1 provided in an AD substrate 23a, and converted therein into 8-bit digital parallel signals. The signals are divided into 4-bit parallel signals in a bit number conversion output circuit 24a2 of an IC constitution, time-sharingly output to a digital signal processing part 25a1 provided in a signal processing substrate 25a via four signal lines 80a of the flexible substrate 80, and subjected to a predetermined processing therein to reduce the number of the signal lines 80a.
