<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent substance that has a very wide range of luminescent chromaticity and can produce an afterglow of a high luminance, and to provide a lump equipped with it, a light-emitting device and a display device. <P>SOLUTION: This fluorescent substance comprises a first fluorescent substance having a first emission spectrum that is converted by at least one part of energy of an excited source and is different from the energy, and a second fluorescent substance having a second emission spectrum that is converted by at least one part of the first emission spectrum and is different from the first emission spectrum, wherein the first fluorescent substance is a light-storing fluorescent substance.
