PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera improved in the stability of a system by suppressing a drop of a power source voltage and thereby averting an inadvertent shut off of a power source (casual power source off). SOLUTION: A main control system for performing processing of respective sections of the electronic camera during storage processing of a collapsible lens is put into a standby state or power source off state. The superposed operations of the two blocks requiring a large amount of power can be averted and an increase of the electric power consumption is prevented and thereby degradation in the power source voltage can be suppressed.
