PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL device having a sealing structure of adhering sealing members by smearing resin, capable of surely restraining the resin from bulging-out and easily controlling the gap between an element base plate and the sealing member, hardly generating deflection and stress of the base plate, and to provide a manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the EL device comprises a process of curing a first adhesive 31 applied on a peripheral edge part of opposing faces of the element base plate 20 and the sealing base plate 24 in a state that the element base plate 20 and the sealing base plate 24 face each other; and a process of curing a second adhesive 32 applied between the faces of the element base plate 20 and the sealing base plate 24 facing each other, at a part further inward of the first adhesive 31.
